Auction is for two tubes (matched pair) extremely rare Mullard 6080 / ECC230 / 6AS7 / 5998 black plates double power triode. (brown bakelite base, triple mica)
They are branded Philips and they come in original Philips boxes + wrapped in paper. Boxes are in bad shape, but tubes, as well prints on tubes are in perfect condition.
Made in Mullard Mitcham tube plant in 1968, and codes are clearly visible on photos - A1J R8L3.
These tubes are factory pre selected for balanced sections and the best cathodes of complete batch!!!
That's why they have "SQ" Special Quality sign and in 60's this label wasn't just marketing ploy, just 5% of complete production had it. They are real gems indeed and they sound like that.
They are carefully matched by plate current on my calibrated Metrix U61B state of the art tester.
